Good Lottery Numbers vs BadIf lottery drawings are random events, then all number combinations should have the same probability of winning, right? Wrong. Lottery drawings are random events, but that doesn't change the fact that certain numbers and number patterns are selected more frequently than other numbers and patterns. The reason this is true = quantity.
About Quantity Imagine a lottery game where 4 red balls and 2 white balls are placed in a bag and mixed together.
If you reached into the bag and took one ball out, there is a possibility that it would be a white ball, but a greater probability that it would be a red ball because there are more of them (a greater quantity) in the bag. The question is then, are there quantities of things in actual lottery games such as Powerball or Mega Millions that a lottery player could use to potentially improve their odds of winning? The answer is, yes, there are, and we'll discuss one next. Number Patterns - Odds and Evens Odds and even numbers are one example of an identifiable number pattern that occur in number combinations played in the lottery. To get a better idea about how odd and even numbers affect probability of winning let's return to our example lottery game, only this time let's label one white ball "odd", the other white ball "even", and the red balls "both".
The first white ball represents number combinations that contain only odd numbers. The second white ball represents number combinations that contain only even numbers. The red balls represent number combinations that contain both odd and even numbers. As you can see, number combinations containing both odd and even numbers have a greater probability of being selected because there are greater quantities of them. We can repeat this example using numbers instead of colored balls - In this example lottery game 2 numbers are selected from 4 numbers ranging from 1 to 4. That means that there are six possible number combinations for this lottery game (arranged lowest-highest).
Question:
1-2
Answer: 1-4 2-3 3-4 Of the six possible number combinations four contain a mix of odd and even numbers (shown above) while only two (shown below) contain all odd or all even numbers. 1-32-4 Other Useful Number Patterns
In addition to odd and even number patterns, there are other numbers and patterns that can be used to potentially improve the probability of winning.
Helpful Tools We offer two products designed to help you select the best quality (most probable) number combinations to play in your lottery game. Winning Number Analysis is designed to be used as a reference and guide when selecting lottery numbers. The analysis results show the numbers and number patterns most frequently selected in a lottery game (numbers to play) and those that rarely or never occur (numbers to avoid). Best Bets are all possible number combinations for a lottery game *except* the number combinations containing numbers and/or number patterns that we have determined through winning number analysis as having a lower probability of winning. When you select numbers to play from our Best Bets lists you don't have to worry choosing number combinations that contain low probability number patterns (such as all odd and all even numbers) as we have removed them from the lists. Play Smart - Play to Win Hopefully we have shown that there is more to picking lottery numbers than just randomly selecting numbers to play, or relying completely on computer generated quick picks. If you play higher-probability numbers and patterns, you can improve your odds of winning. | ||||||
